The Day of our shoot/Log

On Friday 20th November 2009, our group went to Tudor Square in Ware, Hertfordshire to film "Upstaged." Before filming we made a few adjustments to our storyboard which eventually became an animatic. In my last posting I said two of my group members would be playing my entourage. Now they are working behind the camera because they chose not to be filmed. We felt alright about the overall decision because we wanted everyone to participate in the action. Before I headed down to the location, It was a dull cloudy morning with early showers. Perry and I were speculating if the filming was going to take place. It turned out that five minutes before I went down to Ware I got a call from Perry saying that we should film because this was the only day we could film because other group members had personal commitments to attend to.

9:30: Setting up the camera, tripod and making sure we had all the props and costume we needed.
10:00: We started filming our first shot of the day. We took two takes just in case the sound couldn't be heard or we had problems with the camera.
10:30: Stayed in the same location for another hour shooting shot reverse shots, a montage of the main characters and tracking shots of the characters walking.
11:15: We went to the park to film 6 shots in a different location.
11:25: Firstly we filmed 5 takes of 1 shot because we had difficulty correcting the right camera angel.
11:35: We filmed a training montage of Perry in the park then a pan to show the park.
12:00: We headed back to the main highstreet to film the last two shots of the main characters.
12:30: finished a successful day of shooting

Hint: While filming, we did not film the shots in order because we had a chance to edit them the following week.
Hint: We followed our storyboard but we still had one shot to film which we had forgotten.
